Pinstripe Suit performs for the Cambridge Lindy dance society
Pinstripe Suit swing band performs at the Speakeasy night for the Cambridge Lindy dance society on Monday 6th May. Cambridge Lindy hosts a swing dance night each Monday at the Man on the Moon venue in Cambridge and invites swing bands to play for the dancers each month. Pinstripe Suit specialises in performing for swing dance and lindy dance groups and has previously performed for the London Swing Dance Society at the 100 Club and the Norfolk Swing Dance Society.

'Jazz Junction' continues at The Plough, Gt. Chesterford
The monthly jazz club at The Plough in Great Chesterford returns on Thursday 2nd May. Robin will be joined by two London guests this month: Tim Thornton on bass (currently up for a 'rising star' British Jazz Award) and Italian-born London-based singer, Rosanna Brandi.
The 'Jazz Junction' club nights are free and the music starts at 7pm.

CMJ Jazz Lounge ft. Sam Mayne
Robin continues his 'Jazz Lounge' series with Cambridge Modern Jazz on Thursday 11th April at Hidden Rooms in Cambridge city centre. The house band features Robin on piano / vocals, Derek Scurll on drums and Joel Humann on bass.
The special guest in April is the phenominal young alto sax player, Sam Mayne. Sam is a member of the BBC Big Band, Stan Tracey Octet, Guy Barker Orchestra and formerly the John Dankworth big band. He appears regularly at Ronnie Scott's Club and was a Perrier award winner in 2000 for Best Band with his own quartet.
The evening also features a jazz jam, where local musicians can join the band to try out their own improvising skills.

Back to Switzerland for more Duelling Pianos
Robin returns to Lausanne, Switzerland in April for two weeks of Duelling Pianos performances with Duelling Pianos partner, Franky Flame. The performances will take place nightly Tues - Sat at Kingsize piano bar between 15th and 25th April..
In the studio recording new album
Robin is currently recording his new album, a sing / play vocalese album inspired by the music and vocalese writing of legendary jazz singer, King Pleasure. The album will feature some of the UK's most exciting jazz musicians, including Tim Thornton on bass and Chris Draper on drums. Special guests to appear on the album include the legendary international jazz singers Ian Shaw and Anita Wardell, and top UK jazz instrumentalists Brandon Allen, Steve Fishwick, Sam Mayne, and Albert Garza.
Jazz Junction at The Plough
This month's Jazz Junction at The Plough in Great Chesterford will take place on Thursday 28th March and feature special guest, vocalist Georgia Mancio. From 7pm.
Robin returns to Archduke on London's Southbank
Robin will perform at London's Archduke jazz bar on Saturday 2nd March with a fantastic line-up. The band will feature Geoff Gascoyne on bass, Seb DeKrom on drums, and Sammy Mayne on alto sax.
The group will be playing a variety of music including music from Robin's 'Old Street, New Groove' album, and music from his upcoming album, being recorded later in March.
The performace starts at 10pm but there is live music from 7:30pm.
Brandon Allen guests with Robin @ Cambridge Modern Jazz
On Thursday 28th February, Robin hosts his second 'Jazz Lounge' night with Cambridge Modern Jazz at the Hidden Rooms in Cambridge city centre.
Doors open at 18:30 and the performance will feature London special guest, Brandon Allen on sax, with Robin on vocals and piano, Joel Humann on bass, and Derek Scurll on drums.
There will also be a jazz jam element to the evening.

New regular jazz performances at The Plough, Great Chesterford
repmusic has teamed up with the new landlords at The Plough to present regular live jazz.
On the second Sunday each month there will be live jazz during the afternoon in the rare Nat King Cole-style trio featuring Robin Phillips on piano/vocals, Louis Thorne on guitar, and Joel Humann on bass.
On the last Wednesday each month is the 'Jazz Junction' night where Robin Phillips will be joined by a bass player and a special guest from the London jazz scene.
The first 'Jazz Junction' is Wednesday 27th February and features special guest Steve Fishwick on trumpet, supported by Robin Phillips on piano and Joel Humann on bass.

New 'Jazz Lounge' & jam with Cambridge Modern Jazz
repmusic has teamed up with long-running provider of live jazz Cambridge Modern Jazz to present a regular jazz night with a house trio, guests and a jam.
The Robin Phillips Trio will host the evenings, held on Thursday nights when the main CMJ programme is not scheduled. Each month the house trio will be joined by a guest from the London jazz scene. Guests include Brandon Allen (tenor sax), Tom Walsh (trumpet), and Sam Mayne (alto sax). There will also be a jazz jam as part of the evenings.
The 'Jazz Lounge' will be held in Cambridge city centre at the Hidden Rooms. Entrance is £8 or £6 for concessions (including musicians).

Pinstripe Suit performs at The Savoy for New Year's Eve!
Pinstripe Suit will perform at the world famous hotel, The Savoy, on The Strand in London, as part of the venue's New Year's Eve celebrations.
The seven-piece swing and vocal jazz band will perform throughout the evening in the bandstand in the Thames Foyer. It is a fitting end to what has been a great year for the band, with performances abroad, a performance at the Royal Albert Hall, and TV performances along with many private events.

Pinstripe Suit performs on TOWIE.. twice!
Pinstripe Suit, Robin's 7-piece swing and vocal jazz band, was selected to perform on the popular ITV2 show: The Only Way Is Essex, twice in December.
The first performance was as Kirk's backing band when he performed on the programme's first ever live show. Click here to see the performance.

Performances at new Duelling Pianos bar in Birmingham

Robin returns to Switzerland for more Duelling Pianos
Robin returns to Switzerland in November for two weeks of Duelling Pianos performances at Kingsize in Lausanne, on the bank of Lake Geneva.
The performances will take place from 13th - 25th November.
Duelling Pianos team performs at Butlins
Duelling Pianos will perforn at Butlins Bognor Regis as part of the resort's Adult Entertainment Weekend on 9th - 11th November.
The performances will feature Robin and fellow piano entertainer Jason Stanley playing request shows in Jaks bar on Friday and Saturday from 11pm.
Jazz performance at Hot Numbers Cafe, Cambridge

New Duelling Pianos music bar opening in Birmingham
Robin is closely involved with the opening of the UK's first dedicated Duelling Pianos bar. The bar, which will also feature live jazz on Sundays, will open on Thursday 1st Nov and is on Broad Street, in Birmingham's city centre. The bar will include live music 6 days a week.
Robin wil be performing as part of the Duelling Pianos shows during the opening week on Tuesday 30th October, Wednesday 31st October and Thursday 1st November. Keep an eye on the gigs page for other performances.
repmusic is responsible for all the live jazz at the venue. Robin will be performing as part of the weekly jazz programme at the venue on Sunday 9th December and Sunday 13th January. Jazz performances start at 1pm.

Monthly jazz performances in Linton, Cambridgeshre
Robin has created a new regular jazz performance at the Dog and Duck pub in Linton village centre in Cambridgeshire. The performances will happen on the 1st Sunday of every month from 3pm.
Cambridgeshire-based performers joining Robin at the gigs include Jim Free (sax), Hannah Horton (sax), Gareth Lumbers (sax), Louis Thorne (bass), and Dave Olney (bass). Upcoming performance dates include: Sunday 7th October, Sunday 4th November, and Sunday 2nd December 2012.

Savoy American Bar performance
Robin will be performing in the world-famous American Bar at the Savoy on Sunday 9th September. Robin is a resident entertainer in the Beaufort Bar at the Savoy but this will be the first time that he has performed in the American Bar.

Pinstripe Suit have been asked to perform at the Royal Albert Hall as part of its Ignite music series.

Mother's Day performance at Boisdale Canary Wharf
Following his debut performance at Boisdale Canary Wharf for the Jazz FM Discovery Show in 2011, the Robin Phillips Trio returns to the Jools Holland-patroned jazz venue on Sunday 18th March.

Pinstripe Suit to perform in Amsterdam
Pinstripe Suit swing band will fly out to Amsterdam in February for a one-off performance in the amazing De Industrieele Groote Club. The performance is part of a 1930s speakeasy event for one of the UK's biggest entertainment companies, Bourne Leisure. Pinstripe Suit will be joined by the Ministry Of Fun who will be adding prohibition-style theatre to the event.
TV Filming - BGT & DTTB
Robin is taking part in two TV shows in February. First, Robin is filming for the new series of Britain's Got Talent with fellow Piano Entertainer Robbie Peaple performing a Duelling Pianos show. The pair will perform at the Hammersmith Apollo in front of 4,000 people and the judges: Simon Cowell, Carmen Electra, David Walliams, and Alicia Dixon. The duelling pianists have made it through to the last 140 acts from 70,000 applicants.

Kir Royal Trio perform at The Dorchester for NYE
Robin's duel-vocal jazz trio, featuring female jazz vocalist Kirsty Jarvis will perform at The Dorchester hotel as part of its New Year's Eve celebrations.

Robin to help launch the new Porsche 911 (991)
Robin will be performing at Porsche Centres around the country in December to help the legendary sportcars manufacturer launch the new Porsche 911, called the 991.
Chosen to match the high-class appeal of the Porsche brand, Robin will be performing upbeat swing at the various launch events across the UK.
Pinstripe Suit to perform at Nightjar
In the first of what will hopefully be regular public performances, Robin's six-piece swing band, Pinstripe Suit, will take to the stage at Prohibition-styled Nightjar bar by Old Street on Saturday 19th November.
Often restricted to private performances, Pinstripe Suit is very excited about having the opportunity to play a rare public gig.
The ensemble, featuring bandleader Robin, Kirsty Jarvis (vocals), Gareth Lumbers (sax), Neil Penny (tpt), Vilem Hais (bass) and Claire Brock (drums), will perform two high-octane sets, featuring classic swing, and also music from the 1990's US swing revival, as featured in films sich as Swingers and The Mask.

Huge variety of performances in November
Robin has a packed schedule of very different performances this November.
His will perform his residencies at Piano Soho (pop requests) each Tuesday, Shanghi Blues (jazz duo) each Friday, and Piano Kensington (jazz night) each Sunday.
On November 3rd Robin plays a Spy-themed gig with saxophonist Stacey Dawson. Robin then performs in trio format at the Old Bank Of England in trio format on Weds 9th and 23rd November.
On Saturday 12th Robin performs at the Savoy's Beaufort Bar with Emma Smith, quickly becoming the most talked about new star on the jazz scene.
Saturday Dorchester performances are on 5th and 26th with a rare public performance of Robin's 6-piece band, Pinstripe Suit, at Nightjar on Sat 19th (see above).

New trio residency at the Dorchester hotel
Following various previous performances at the World-famous Dorchester hotel, Robin will now be featuring on Saturday nights in the Promenade Bar.
In a line up featuring Robin, bass, and sax, the ensemble will perform both jazz and pop music to suit the mood and requests from the audience. The Promenade is often frequented by some of the World's most famous celebrities and so this regular performance slot is one of London's top residencies.
New venue: Boisdale Bishopsgate
Robin performs for the first time at Boisdale Bishopsgate this month, following his quartet's successful performance at Boisdale Canary Wharf for Jazz FM in July (see news item below). His first performance is on Weds 7th September. The next performance after that will be Weds 17th October.

Robin joins the Duelling Piano team
Robin becomes a feature performer with the new UK-based Duelling Pianos company, starting this month. He will perform on 1st September at Avenue on Shaftesbury Avenue and at Billingsgate for the Square Meal Venue and Events show on 22nd September. Following that, Robin will perform with fellow duellers Robbie Peaple and Danny Mills at Vodka Revolution in Clapham on Thursday 27th October.

New addition to the Phillips household
Robin became a father on July 29th, Amelie Rose Phillips was born at 3am, weighing 7lb4oz. Mother and baby are both doing well.
Jazz FM gig and broadcast
Robin has been selected as one of the hot emerging artists on the London jazz scene and will perform for the Jazz FM Discovery Show on Wednesday 27th July, at 20:00.
Robin will perform with his quartet including Gareth Lumbers (sax), Claire Brock (drums), and Vil Hais (bass) at the new Boisdale jazz venue in Canary Wharf, where the gig will be recorded by Jazz FM.
The gig will then be broadcast along with an interview with Robin on Tuesday 2nd August at 21:00 on Mike Vitti's Jazz FM Discovery Show.
