Pinstripe Suit return to Nightjar with Alpha Horns
Robin's 6-piece swing group, Pinstripe Suit, become a 7-piece for the ensemble's return to this funky Hoxton Prohibtion-style speakeasy.
The Alph Horns, featuring Gareth Lumbers (sx), Freddie Bols (tp), and Howard Felton (tb), join the regular Pinstripe team of Robin (pn/vx), Claire Brock (dr), Vil Hais (bs), and Kirsty Jarvis (vx).
Likely to be a sell-out, early booking is advised.
In 2012, Pinstripe Suit will perform at the Nightjar speakeasy bar on the 3rd Saturday of each month (except March).

December 2011 Kir Royal Trio perform at The Dorchester for NYE
Robin's duel-vocal jazz trio, featuring female jazz vocalist Kirsty Jarvis will perform at The Dorchester hotel as part of its New Year's Eve celebrations.
The trio will also feature George Trebar on acoustic bass as the harmonising team performing to special guests at the world-famous hotel.

Robin heads to Switerland for Duelling Pianos
Robin will be a feature performer at the Kingsize Duelling Piano bar in Lausanne for two weeks in January.
From 4th - 14th January, Robin will perform with fellow-dueller Drew Chamberlain each night of the week (Tues - Sat).
November 2011 Robin to help launch the new Porsche 911 (991)
Robin will be performing at Porsche Centres around the country in December to help the legendary sportcars manufacturer launch the new Porsche 911, called the 991.
Chosen to match the high-class appeal of the Porsche brand, Robin will be performing upbeat swing at the various launch events across the UK.

Pinstripe Suit to perform at Nightjar
In the first of what will hopefully be regular public performances, Robin's six-piece swing band, Pinstripe Suit, will take to the stage at Prohibition-styled Nightjar bar by Old Street on Saturday 19th November.
Often restricted to private performances, Pinstripe Suit is very excited about having the opportunity to play a rare public gig.
The ensemble, featuring bandleader Robin, Kirsty Jarvis (vocals), Gareth Lumbers (sax), Neil Penny (tpt), Vilem Hais (bass) and Claire Brock (drums), will perform two high-octane sets, featuring classic swing, and also music from the 1990's US swing revival, as featured in films sich as Swingers and The Mask.
Advance purchase of tickets is advised as these nights often sell out before the night.

November 2011 Huge variety of performances in November
Robin has a packed schedule of very different performances this November.
His will perform his residencies at Piano Soho (pop requests) each Tuesday, Shanghi Blues (jazz duo) each Friday, and Piano Kensington (jazz night) each Sunday.
On November 3rd Robin plays a Spy-themed gig with saxophonist Stacey Dawson. Robin then performs in trio format at the Old Bank Of England in trio format on Weds 9th and 23rd November.
On Saturday 12th Robin performs at the Savoy's Beaufort Bar with Emma Smith, quickly becoming the most talked about new star on the jazz scene.
Saturday Dorchester performances are on 5th and 26th with a rare public performance of Robin's 6-piece band, Pinstripe Suit, at Nightjar on Sat 19th (see above).
Click here for full gig listings for November. October 2011 New trio residency at the Dorchester hotel Following various previous performances at the World-famous Dorchester hotel, Robin will now be featuring on Saturday nights in the Promenade Bar.
In a line up featuring Robin, bass, and sax, the ensemble will perform both jazz and pop music to suit the mood and requests from the audience. The Promenade is often frequented by some of the World's most famous celebrities and so this regular performance slot is one of London's top residencies.

September 2011 New venue: Boisdale Bishopsgate Robin performs for the first time at Boisdale Bishopsgate this month, following his quartet's successful performance at Boisdale Canary Wharf for Jazz FM in July (see news item below). His first performance is on Weds 7th September. The next performance after that will be Weds 17th October.

September 2011 Robin joins the Duelling Piano team Robin becomes a feature performer with the new UK-based Duelling Pianos company, starting this month. He will perform on 1st September at Avenue on Shaftesbury Avenue and at Billingsgate for the Square Meal Venue and Events show on 22nd September. Following that, Robin will perform with fellow duellers Robbie Peaple and Danny Mills at Vodka Revolution in Clapham on Thursday 27th October.

Savoy performances Robin will be performing twice at the World-famous Savoy hotel in August. On Thursday 18th and 25th August, Robin will be performing in the beautiful art deco Beaufort Bar in trio format, both times featuring Stacey Dawson on sax. Performances start at 8pm.
July 2011
New addition to the Phillips household Robin became a father on July 29th, Amelie Rose Phillips was born at 3am, weighing 7lb4oz. Mother and baby are both doing well.
July 2011 Jazz FM gig and broadcast
Robin has been selected as one of the hot emerging artists on the London jazz scene and will perform for the Jazz FM Discovery Show on Wednesday 27th July, at 20:00.
Robin will perform with his quartet including Gareth Lumbers (sax), Claire Brock (drums), and Vil Hais (bass) at the new Boisdale jazz venue in Canary Wharf, where the gig will be recorded by Jazz FM.
The gig will then be broadcast along with an interview with Robin on Tuesday 2nd August at 21:00 on Mike Vitti's Jazz FM Discovery Show.

Poetry / jazz performances with JMT
There are two JMT jazz / poetry performances in June. The first is on Wednesday 1st June at Keat's House in Hamstead. The performance is part of the Ham & High festival and features JMT's 'London Series': a collection of poems with musical support about various parts of the capital.
The second performance is on Tuesday 21st June at Pushkin House on Bloomsbury Square. This performance features the groups 'Vladivostok to Moscow' piece which recounts a trip on the Trans-Siberian Express. Click here for more information.

Robin returns to the world-famous Dorchester hotel for regular performances from May. Robin will be performing in the Promenade Bar as part fo the hotel's feature music programme. The first performance is with bass and saxophone on Saturday 28th May. For more information see the gigs page.

Performances at the new Savoy
Robin will be performing regularly at the world-famous and newly refurbished Savoy hotel on The Strand in London. The first performance is with jazz vocalist Kirsty Jarvis and will take place in the Beaufort Bar on Wednesday 18th May. For future performances see the gig listings page.
May 2011 Trio performances at Old Bank go twice monthly
Robin's monthly trio performances at the beautiful Old Bank of England on Fleet Street have proven to be so popular they will become twice-monthly from May.
Starting on Wednesday 11th May, the second Wednesday of the month will feature Robin performing instrumental jazz standards with bass and drums. The first of these performances will feature Claire Brock on drums and Chris Rodel on acoustic bass on 11th May.
The last Wednesday of the month will continue with Robin on piano accompanied by acoustic bass and tenor saxophone.

April 2011 Late set trio performance at Archduke - 15th April
The Robin Phillips Trio will be headlining at the Archduke's late set on Friday 15th April. Robin will be singing and playing upbeat jazz including tracks from his latest CD: 'Old Street, New Groove'. Claire Brock will be on drums and George Trebar on bass. January 2011 Performance at The Pheasantry with The Vinylettes
On Saturday 29th January, Robin will be performing on piano with the fantastic 1940s vocal harmony group, The Vinylettes. As well as performing well-known vocal standards from this popular genre of music, the group also performs modern tunes in the same, intricate, enchanting fashion. The Pheasantry is part of the Pizza Express live circuit, taking over from Pizza on the Park following its recent closure. December 2010 New Year's Eve performance at Royal hotel
Robin's dual-vocal ensemble, Kir Royal, featuring jazz vocalist Kirsty Jarvis, will perform at The Goring hotel next to Buckingham Palace for New Year's Eve. The hotel is well known for its royal visitors and its regular visits from the Queen Mother for Afternoon Tea in the past.

December 2010 Robin Phillips Quartet to host the Christmas Special at The Archduke jazz bar On December 18th, Robin will perform with his quartet for the Archduke's Christmas Special. As well as performing tracks from the new CD, 'Old Street, New Groove', the ensemble will perform upbeat jazz versions of well-known Christmas songs and other jazz standards. December 2010 New regular performances at Piano Soho & Piano Kensington Robin will be joining the team at The Piano Group for weekly performances from December. Every Sunday, Robin will host the new 'Jazz Night' at Piano Kensington, performing vocal jazz, with guest artists joining Robin once a month. The new 'Jazz Night' compliments the existing 'Jazz Night' each Sunday at Piano Soho with the Bazz Norton Trio.
Every Tuesday, Robin will perform at Piano Soho as a Piano Entertainer. Different to his usual jazz performances, these will feature Robin singing and playing the best of pop music from across the years and playing requests from the audience.

October 2010 NEW CD: Album launch - November 14th Robin will be launching his new album during the 2010 London Jazz Festival. The launch will take place at the popular London jazz bar, The Archduke (nr. Waterloo) on Sunday 14th November at 18:00.
The Robin Phillips Trio will perform at the launch as well as guest artists who feature on the album. The ensemble's new music video to teh single from the album, God Bless The Child, will also be premiered at the event. Reservations are available on request although numbers are limited.
October 2010 NEW CD: Album & video finished The new album and music video are now finished. The band is currently finalising the cover design and the album will go into production in a few weeks.
September 2010 Four gigs in two days! Robin will be performing four times in 24 hours this weekend (25th-26th September). The first performance is with the Jehane Markham Trio (JMT) featuring for the first time Natalie Rozario on cello as part of the Ham & High Festival. The group will perform their original piece, 'Vladivostok to Moscow', which presents Jehane's original poetry to musical compositions depicting a journey on the famous Russian railway. On Saturday evening Robin will perform with Vil Hais at Shanghai Blues in Holborn.
On Sunday, Robin performs with jazz vocalist Sarah Ellen-Hughes at the famous RAC Club on Pall Mall, as part of the venue's Sunday lunch jazz series (members only). Then, later that day Robin performs two solo sets at the renowned London jazz venue, The Archduke, under the arches between Waterloo station and the Royal Festival Hall.

August 2010 NEW CD: Studio dates booked Robin is heading into the studio next month to record his latest album with the Robin Phillips Trio featuring Vilem Hais (bass) and Claire Brock (drums). The album is the result of four years gigging professionally in London, where the lifestyle and the performances have lead to the album's concept. The ensemble are calling the style 'Groove Jazz' and the album will feature groove-based versions of jazz standards with a few surprises too. June 2010 Robin Phillips Trio launch new material at Summer Ball: The Robin Phillips Trio featuring Robin on piano / vocals, Vilem Hais on bass and Claire Brock on drums, will launch their new groove-jazz sound at the Norfolk Summer Ball on Saturday 19th June.
The trio will be heading into the studio this summer to record a new album featuring the group's new sound, which merges funky grooves with jazz standards.

June 2010 Jehane Markham Trio (JMT) CD now available: A unique and original jazz / poetry piece, JMT's 'The London Series' is now available to buy on CD, following its launch at Free Word in Farringdon, London on 2nd June. At the event, JMT performed 'The London Series' in a double bill with actor Roger Lloyd Pack who performed T.S. Elliott's 'The Wasteland' with cellist Melissa Phelps.
Robin is a founder member of JMT and composed the 'poetic symphony' with poet and playright Jehane Markham, along with bassists Graeme Howell and Jonny Gee. JMT to perform 'The London Series': Robin will be performing as part of the Jehane Markham Trio (JMT) on Thursday 3rd June at the Free Word Centre, 60 Farringdon Road, London, EC1R 3GA.
The performance of the group's original poerty / music piece will be followed by Roger Lloyd Pack (of Only Fools And Horses, The Vicar of Dibly, and The Old Guys) who will be reading T.S. Elliot's The Wasteland accompanied by cellist, Mellissa Phelps.

April 2010 Kir Royal Studio Day & New Audio: Kir Royal, Robin's duel-vocal ensemble with jazz vocalist Kirsty Jarvis, has just spent time back in the studio to record new audio for the group. Duelling Piano Performances In Holland: Robin will be in Groningen, Holland for two weeks from 3rd - 14th March for duelling-piano perfromances at the city's Great Pianos venue. Playing alongside a local pianist/vocalist and drummer the Friday and Saturday evening performances are notorious for their livliness. June 2009 Pinstripe Suit play for Peter Beardsley's Tiny Lives Charity Ball: Pinstripe Suit will be headlining the annual Tiny Lives charity ball hosted by legenary England footballer, Peter Beardsley. The band will perform two sets for the VIP guests to help get the party in the swing.

Make Mine A Double into the studio: Make Mine A Double, Robin's jazz standards and Prohibition-era duo with Saxophonist Andy Cahn, heads into the studio in June to lay down some new tracks. Working on vocal harmony as well as piano / sax duo work, the team hope to give the recording a real feeling of the ensemble's energetic and fun live performances.

JMT head in to the studio: The Jehane Markham Trio, featuring Robin on piano, is heading into the studio this month to record their original poetry / music compositions. The recording will include the groups two poetic symphonies: Vladivostock to Moscow and The London Series. The group are heading to Northampton to use The Lodge recording studios, where Pinstripe Suit recorded their last EP.
March 2009 Pinstripe Suit play London's 100 Club: Robin's 6-piece swing band, Pinstripe Suit, play London's famous music venue this month. Pinstripe Suit have been making a name for themselves in and around London in the past year as an exciting new swing ensemble, now they get to play for London's biggest swing night, Stompin' @ The 100. The group will also debut their brand new composition, Stompin' @ The Hundred.
Kir Royal invited back to Delia's: Robin and Kirsty have been invited back to Delia Smith's restaurant for a new jazz series. Kir Royal will perform at Delia's each Friday in March as the restaurant welcomes back its popular jazz nights.
February 2009 Pinstripe Suit play Norfolk's 'Big Swing Thing': Pinstripe Suit have been chosen as the feature band for the Norfolk Swing Dance Society's annual 'Big Swing Thing'. The popular swing dance night brings together four different dance groups for a night of swing dancing and dressing up in the swing style.
